2013 Ford Escape Release Date and Reviews |
Twelve years after entering the market as a family-friendly, fairly-sized sport / utility boxes, Ford finally escaped the attention to design something that is popular is feasible. The irony is that the model is flying out of dealer lots, thanks in part to the end of the lifecycle discounts and lack of key Japanese rival Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. The new 2013 model, which goes on sale in the first round of the '12, fused like most with their European counterparts non-F-Series/Mustang North American models.
The new one looks more like a replacement for the Ford Kuga Europe than the U.S. to escape. In Europe, a compact crossover with two rows of seats are much more popular, and much easier to find, rather than large and medium-sized three-row crossover that serves as a full replacement for the sport /utilities and minivans here. Ford launched the escape Wednesday in Los Angeles International Auto Show.
The new models share one thing with the F-150, and indeed a new focus and Fiesta: trying to be a compact crossover for all people, with a long list of features and luxuries that allows prospective buyers to fill out the same option without paying for the name of prestige. As the focus Titanium vs. Verano, it could compete with the Cadillac.
Throw out a new model V-6 option for the three four-cylinder engines - two of which are turbocharged direct-injection gas EcoBoosts - while maintaining the 3500-pound rating well behind the front or all-wheel drive. Escape hybrid scrub, with no clear plan to introduce one in the future.
Ford C-Max is the only hybrid in the North American market, with the typical form of the new Toyota Prius hybrids such as V, and without the option all-wheel-drive heavy, draining mpg. We also expect the Fusion '13, which will be Ford's largest new car intro of the model year when the arc in the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, to proceed with a hybrid powertrain option.
The Escape '13 carryover 2.5-liter four will be the price leader for accounting machines only 10 percent of sales, mainly to rental fleets. The main current "replacement" is a new 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine is rated at 173 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, while the EcoBoost 2.0-liter four will replace the 3.0-liter V-6 and made "at least" 237 horsepower and 250 lb-ft Ford EcoBoost engine expects to divide 90 percent of sales.
Although the EPA fuel economy MPG ratings of 2013 Ford Escape will be released closer to escaping the new release date, Ford estimates that up to 5 mpg better than the escape now, with a 2.0 that makes more torque than the Toyota RAV4 V-6, and achieving fuel economy higher than the Honda CR-V, which is rated 23/31 mpg FWD, 22/30 mpg AWD.
Ford said the fleeing currently sells about 50/50 depan-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive, and expect the split to continue with such a new model, but it seems high. AWD like the Chevrolet Equinox took 28.7 per cent seems reasonable enough, although Ford like to think of himself as the leader of the SUV, and more likely to attract buyers who aspire to go off-road.

2013 Ford Escape Launch Date |
Escape 's "Four-Wheel Drive smart" puts 35 percent to 80 percent of torque to the rear wheels, and constantly evaluate the condition of the road to adjust the split. There are no driver controls. AWD or FWD, new breakout will come complete with the latest Ford nanny, including torque vectoring control, curve control, hill start assist, electronic brake assist, roll stability control, trailer sway control, and torque steer compensation.
Curve using the ABS control to "true" will come oversteer or understeer in tight, fast off ramps and the like, in FWD and AWD versions. It can not be turned off, and if it is something like a system that was introduced in the new Explorer, it will feel the anal response to any fan who tried to escape push faster than the limit of the curve or off-road.
So it may be appropriate for most customers for this type of vehicle. Instead, Ford promises "sportier" steering and handling than the RAV4 or CR-V. Real showroom quality interior features will include up to modern standards, and MyFordTouch simple for real buttons for the radio volume and tuning. Ford will also have hands-free liftgate, which allows you to open just by sliding your feet under the rear bumper when your hands are full, as long as the key fob in your pocket.

Improvements to MyFordTouch also includes a touch more climate and navigation controls, a comprehensive reaction to Ford's market research conducted to improve an updated version of Sync that sold so many cars and trucks in recent years, and now blamed for helping sink the Ford score quality. Ford should not worry so much.
Hands-free liftgate is a pretty cool feature to divert most of the buyers of any fussy MyFordTouch control. It could be a breakthrough Ford wagon-back liftgate magic of the greatest features on the model since 1966, and will ensure that the escape remains one of the most popular models in its class for years to come.
